Dr. Scott Hotchkiss attended the University of Michigan for both his undergraduate degree and medical school. He did his Family Practice residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston South Carolina.
He moved with his wife to Petoskey in 1982 and has been practicing Family Medicine in this area continuously since. Dr. Hotchkiss was on active staff at Northern Michigan Hospital and subsequently McLaren Northern Michigan from 1982 until March of 2020.
He was involved in establishing the first hospice in the Petoskey area. Dr. Hotchkiss has participated in multiple medical research studies and is a clinical instructor of medical students from universities throughout Michigan.
Within the scope of Family Medicine, he especially enjoys health promotion and chronic disease management.
Dr. Hotchkiss has been an avid cyclist, cross-country skier, and sailor throughout his lifetime and continues to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle of Northern Michigan. Dr. Hotchkiss and his wife, Jill have five awesome children and five amazing grandchildren.
